Yes, the Firestem Fire Resistant sealant and Coating are part of the overall tested system and should be used.

What sizes are Firestem Fire Batts?
Firestem Fire Batts are 1200 x 600 x 50mm and with a minimum density of 140kg/m3.

Can I use Firestem Fire Batts in a floor situation?
Yes however they are definately NOT loadbearing. For a load bearing floor it may be preferable to use Firestem Mortar.

What fire rating can Firestem Firestop Barriers achieve and who carries out the testing?
Firestem Firestop Barriers can achieve in excess of 4 hours and have been tested by Warrington Fire Research Centre.

They are held in position by means of a self adhesive label, once installed the area around the pipewrap must be sealed with Firestem Mortar to seal any gaps at substrates of the penetration.
